We have been cooped up in the house with all of us sick and Kinley was starting to go crazy! We are finally feeling better (mostly) so we got outside and went on a train ride. It's a cute little train that takes you around the river and park and then stops at a concession stand. It's about a 45 minute ride. Kinley LOVED it. She loved looking around at all the ducks and puppies running around the park. Mainly, she just loved being able to be outside again. She is such a summer junkie like her Mom. :) We are probably going to have to do it again next week with Trav once boards are over.

Happy Easter!!
Happy Easter everyone!!
We had a great day just being able to spend time together as a family.
Kinley got an Easter basket full of candy, books, a new CD, and the movie Lady and the Tramp. Obviously she doesn't understand the whole Easter basket thing yet, but she sure liked getting some new things!
Grandma Clark was so nice and made her Easter dress...it turned out SO cute! And of course her Aunt Jenny made the ADORABLE headband to go with it. She was pretty much the cutest girl at church...not that I'm biased or anything. :)
Trav has been crazy busy studying and has had to miss out on a lot of things lately...so he was glad that he actually got to be here to celebrate with us.
We had a pretty chill day just being with each other but I wouldn't have had it any other way! I LOVE my little family! :)

Kinley's Allergy Story
This all started back in January when Kinley got hives eating Mac & Cheese Lasagna. They went away within 15-20 minutes so I didn't worry too much since she had had that meal a lot.
Then..a couple weeks later she was eating Easy Mac and she got hives, blisters on her lip, and her lips started swelling. We worried the swelling would reach her throat so we took her to the ER. But of course, while we were sitting there waiting to be seen, all her symptoms cleared up. So we just took her home and kept an eye on her.

I wasn't really sure what was causing the allergic reaction because she would be just fine sometimes when eating those things but other times she would react. The week of her birthday I gave her some regular milk like I was supposed to. Within a minute she had hives on her face. At her 12 month check-up her doctor took her off ALL dairy until we could get in to see the allergy specialist since she had swelling with one of the reactions.
We FINALLY got in to see him today. He gave Kinley 24 pokes in her back...she did not like it at all! But instead of crying, she just gave him the best glare I've ever seen her do! A couple of the pokes got a reaction almost instantly and sure enough one of them was cows milk.
He said most kids grow out of this allergy before they start Kindergarten so she is going to be tested again when she turns 2. Until then, she can't have milk or anything with milk in it. She didn't react to soy so we just have to get her to start drinking soy milk and give her multi vitamins to give her the nutrients that milk would have given her...no biggie.
Glad we can put this behind us and start eating semi normal again! :)

Spring Break 2012
This was Trav's last spring break EVER so we went all out!
We decided to use Kinley as an excuse to go to Disneyland. It was even more fun because we got to spend time with Trav's sister, Becky, and her family!
We stayed with Trav's sister Becky who has a little girl that is one month older than Kinley. They were so cute playing together!
Corona Del Mar Beach
This beach was SO pretty! There were amazing homes all around, lots of little tide pools to find little animals in, and a good sand area to just lay on.
Poor Kinley was scared of the beach. She didn't warm up to the idea of it until it was almost time to leave.
Trav and Kinley chasing seagulls.
Kinley had a death grip on me. Maybe it's all my talk of my fear of sharks that got to her! ;)
Allyson loved the water...even though it was freezing!! And Kinley...well she'll warm up to the idea some day.
Showing Kinley a star fish.
Best feeling ever!
And finally......
DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!
We were lucky enough to spend TWO whole days there! Becky came with us the first day and watched Kinley while we went on all the "big kid" rides our hearts could desire. She is the BEST!!!
The second day we devoted to Kinley. We took her on all the little kid rides, watched the parade, met some characters and watched World of Colors. I wish I could capture the huge smile that was on Kinley's face the whole day! She couldn't stop pointing to things, squealing, and laughing at everything! SO cute!!
Minnie walked right past Kinley's stroller and Kinley started going CRAZY! She couldn't stop pointing to her and smiling and giggling. Once we got up close she didn't really know what to do though.
Enjoying a snack while waiting in line to see the Princesses.
Tiana from Princess and the Frog.
Ariel.
Mulan.
Cinderella.
Kinley acted with Mickey like she did with Minnie. She was almost jumping out of our arms to get to him. I was so happy she actually recognized him!
What better way to learn to drive than at Disneyland????
Yes....this is how she fell asleep. Poor girl was SO tired from all the excitement that she finally gave in to a nap.
California Adventures!!!
Waiting for the parade to start.
She saw Mickey and Minnie on the float and tried climbing over Trav's shoulder to get to them.
Princess float. Kinley didn't care for them...she was still pointing to where Mickey and Minnie went.
Passed out during World of Colors.
Now back to reality......

1 Year Check-Up
This picture about sums up how my poor girl has been feeling lately....
.....which led to a fun 1 yr check-up.
She's been having allergic reactions and we think it is dairy causing it. She gets hives off and on, rashes, eczema, and her lips swelled up one time. She got so sick from it that we ended up taking her to the ER last Friday where we found out she has a DOUBLE ear infection as well. Poor baby! :(
Her pediatrician made her an appointment in two weeks with an allergy specialist for her to get tested so we know exactly what she's allergic to. Hopefully we'll get some answers so she'll start feeling better!
On a positive note, the antibiotics for her ears are finally kicking in and she's starting to get much better sleep at night! She is seriously such a trooper! She is still extremely happy unless it's around the time for her to have more medicine when she is feeling the pain a little bit.
Other than the allergy and ear infections she is doing really well!
She got two more teeth over the weekend making her grand total FOUR teeth!! Woot woot!!!
She does animal sounds for cow, elephant, and monkey and she'll smack her lips together for a fish sound.
She is starting to say more words....when she feels like it of course.
She is getting more sturdy with walking and can go pretty far as long as she doesn't get too excited about something.
She knows where I keep her snacks and asks me for them when she wants some.
She sleeps from 7pm-6am.
She FINALLY started clapping and she'll do it anytime I do something she likes....like putting on a movie for her etc.
She is in a "big girl" car seat which she LOVES!
Here's her stats:
Height 27in (10%)
Weight 18lbs (10%)
She also had her annual blood draw which she wasn't a big fan of.

Birthday Girl!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KINLEY!!!!!
I can't believe it has been one whole year since we were sitting in the hospital meeting her for the first time!
I can't believe it has been one whole year since we were sitting in the hospital meeting her for the first time!
Life would feel so incomplete without her around. She has brought SO much joy and laughter to our little family. We would not trade her for anything!
These next couple of weeks are busy study weeks for Trav so we did her presents and cake yesterday.
She got some bath toys, puzzles, books and some gift cards from both grandparents which we used to order a cute mini recliner for her!
She still loves Minnie and Mickey so we went with that theme.
Us with our birthday girl (please excuse Trav's cheesy smile haha)
Today we met Trav for lunch and got Kinley her very first kids meal. Then I took her to the store to pick out one more present...she of course chose something to do with Minnie Mouse. It is a cute little band set with a drum, shakers, whistle etc. AND she also got her second tooth (the other vampire tooth) in time for her birthday! Over all, she has had a great day! :)
I can't wait to see all the fun things the next year will bring!
